Planning Your Web SiteConcept

Although setting up a Web site can be done very fast with automated tools, planning for the whole site and preparing the content may take more time. The more content you have, the better it needs to be organized. Organizing the concept is a bit simpler when you are working with automated tools that provide you with templates.

Getting familiar with the interface by doing your initial set-up, as described in the webinar "Create Your Own Web Site in Under 20 Minutes" helps you plan for the rest of the Web site, because it gives you a feel of how the site is already organized for you. The type of design plays a role in how you organize and present things, because the tools you use to prepare your Web site allow you more or less freedom on the design part. For instance, if you use the automated tool, it provides you with a choice of templates where things are pre-organized. All you have to do is adapt them to your needs. They include more sections and links than you need, but you can just remove what you will not use.

If you use a real Web Design software to prepare your pages, then you can either design everything from scratch or use the templates provided by the program. This kind of software is more complex and takes a while to learn. Although they are generally intuitive, you will probably need to attend some specialized seminars to learn what you need to know and how to find your way around. It's worth it if you are going to design Web sites on a regular basis, but it might not be if you design only your site.

This webinar shows you how to plan your concept when working with an automated tool and is the next step after you have set up your Web site with the help of the previous webinar: "Create Your Own Web Site in Under 20 Minutes". We also discuss various options and possible content such as blogs, newsletter, webinars, social media, links, references, affiliate programs, e-commerce, etc.

The schedule for this webinar is available on the Webinar Schedule page. You can register up to one hour before the webinar. Maximum 20 participants, on a first come first serve basis.
