When we are out of work and do not know where to turn, what do we do? Well, we search on the Internet, of course! And on the Internet, we find many, many opportunities. We are often promised to make millions of dollars very easily with almost no effort whatsoever. But these promises rarely materialize and the offers are not necessarily what they advertise. Another unsettling observation is the amount of scams that are multiplying over the Internet, and unscrupulous people are taking advantage of those in an unfortunate situation. When you do online searches about working from home, you get presented with many Web pages containing endless links that lead you nowhere. Most of the time, it is a gimmick to resell something. One of them is for reselling Web hosting programs with extensions other than the typical ".com". You always end up having to buy your own Web hosting plan, allowing you to share this wonderful opportunity with others. You are supposed to get a commission doing that. You will find offers promising that you will make a lot of money and everything - all the secrets to do that - will be revealed to you for only $1. The catch is, once they get hold of your credit card number, they will cherge a recurrent monthly mount, aften in the neighborhood of $65 per month. This is outrageous, because the only people making a lot of money are those selling you the stuff. They are making money from people who are in a terrible predicament and that is shameful.

Other scams promise to deliver the "secret to making a lot of money fast" for about $100 and up to $500 or even $3,000. If you want to buy The Secret, you can view it online for less than $5 on www.thesecret.tv. Or, you can access a lot of FREE material, on which the Secret and many similar books have been based, on the Psi-Tek Web site. I would guess that this site probably contains all the material that has been used to launch the whole abundance self-help movement. You may find that you have more work to do on your own when you use the free material, but at least it's free! You will find that it is exactly the same method that the scammers have repackaged for a higher price (20 times higher!). While it is true that, in order to attain real prosperity, you need to change your mindset and thought pattern, you can do it for FREE. You can also read Dr Wayne Dyer's excellent books (they are free if you go to your local library) and Conversations With God (less than $25 for the 3 books). All of the above reveal and explain the technique, and it works! This is the real secret!

Most of the sites that pretend to cater to entrepreneurs are sites where you need to pay first before getting any information, typically in the neighborhood of $50 (except for governement sites). When you are not hit for a payment upfront, you have to give an email address to get "free how-to material on how to start your business". You are then submitted to a constant barrage of e-mail sales pitch for the $50 kit. They call the salespitch "courses" and never tell you what is in that kit. It is usually some documents telling you how to resell Internet stuff. You could find that on your own by doing a search on the Web.
